„This idea is surely daring, and it will surely become unbelievably arduous for the participant field of 200 leisure sportsmen. But who can brag that they have to climbed the steepest slope in the world in a competition?", asks long run expert and former professional, Peter Schlickenrieder. And one thing is certain: The motivating cheers from thousands of jubilant spectators will be heard by each participant all the way up "La Rampa". Registration is still possible until January 6th 2011. The starting fee is 50 euros.

Steepest incline is 28 per cent
The Tour de France of Nordic skiing will be in Val di Fiemme on the 8th and 9th of January 2011, and there will be special attention on the final Climb up to the finishing line. From the Nordic ski center Lago di Tesero, the skiers must up master the 3.6 kilometers long track which is the conclusion of the Tour de Ski. "La Rampa" has an altitude difference of 420 meters, and an incline of 28 per cent up to Alpe Cermis.

After the 10-kilometer run for ladies and the 20-kilometer run of the gentlemen on Saturday, both in the classical style, the last leg on Sunday, which demands everything, will be in free style.

„Route del Gusto" - spectators become participants
Sportsmen cannot only take part on this weekend. The spectators become with the "Route del Gusto" equal participants. Along the long run runway, regional specialities from Val di Fiemme will be served on Sunday at different stations. „The Tour of flavours" is only one of the high points in a versatile program. Even on Saturday, the spectators of the South Nordic festival and Fiemme can enjoy many shows, music and culinary experiences in the Fiemme arena, the stadium of Lago di Tesero.
